At its 78th AGM, Exide revealed that its Bengaluru-based subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Ltd (EESL), is spearheading a greenfield 12 GWh lithium‑ion cell manufacturing facility, to be developed in two 6 GWh phases. The company has already infused around ₹3, 700 crore into this project and plans to invest an additional ₹600–700 crore during the current fiscal year to complete Phase I, with trial production expected to begin by the end of FY 2025‑26.
